Our milk paint system allows you to control the opacity of the paint by adding more or less pigment to the milk base. Real milk paint will not congeil to an unusable to an unusable blob by the next day, but will remain usable for 2 weeks to a month. The richness of colors, combined with the dry flat look, is unmatched by modern paints. Real milk paint is vitually ordorless during application and while drying. All of real milk paint colors can be intermixed to create your own custom shades.
Directions
Empty bag of white milk paint base into plastic or glass container, 2 or 3 times larger than needed. Do Not Use Metal !! ( example: 1 quart use a gallon container) Add 3 cups water quickly. Stir virorously for one minute. Stir any contents stuck to the bottom of the container. When mixed, add both bags of powdered pigments and stir thoroughly. Allow mixed paint to stand for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not add less water to mixture in order to thicken. Milk paint is traditionally is a very thin watery paint. To thicken further, add powdered non fat milk to desired consistency. The paint will keep for several weeks until it sours.
Use a natural bristle brush for application. As days and weeks go by the paint will continue to become more resistant to moisture. After the paint has dried for 3-4 hours you may top coat varnish, oil finish, lacquer, or wax. Try in a inconspicuous area first, the colour may change. Wear proper saftey equipment, goggles and rubber gloves.

Powdered Milk Paint Stripper Directions
Mix one part powder to two parts water using any container except aluminum or plastic. Pour the powder slowly into cool water, while stirring. Let the mix stand for five or ten minutes until it has formed a thick paste and re-stir into a cream. Flow on mixture with nylon paint brush. Some layers will be dissolved in minutes but it might take as long as an hour to completely dissolve some crusty old antique paints. A mist spray of water will keep the stripping action going. Spot test with a wet cloth, when you see the original wood surface you can wash everything away with medium steel wool pad. Some wood may darken, but a quick after wash with oxalic acid or strong vinegar will quickly restore the natural wood tone. Clean the surface with water thoroughly before applying new finishes.
Note: Try the mixed paint remover in an inconspicuous area first.
